The Playa Huizache Caimanero Sanctuary is considered the most important nesting area in northwestern Mexico for the olive ridley sea turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea). Its 53.5 kilometers of beach are characterized by unique ecosystems that remain relatively undisturbed, making it an ideal location for low-impact tourism activities.
